The observatory arises in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic, given the need to make visible and monitor its behavior in the Amazon. Likewise, to evidence and monitor the installed capacity of health services to respond to the epidemic with quality services and differential approach. In this situation, it is essential to map the COVID-19 cases (probable and confirmed) to facilitate the response and follow-up by the competent institutions and organizations. It is also considered a priority to monitor the secondary effects caused by the pandemic (such as food shortages, increases in levels of violence and mental health crises), in order to generate a timely response.
Here you will find the information we have compiled from official and reliable sources, in order to make it more accessible and to visualize how the COVID-19 landscape is transforming in the Colombian Amazon region.
We have developed a series of graphs that show the situation of the COVID-19 pandemic in the Amazon region.
