Sociocultural adaptation of maternal and child health clinical practice guidelines for the Nasa, Misak and Yanacona peoples.

This project characterized the knowledge and practices related to pregnancy, childbirth and the postpartum period of the Nasa, Yanacona and Misak peoples who are members of the Regional Indigenous Council of Huila. A review of official indicators and those generated by the CRIHU, its Health Program and the IPS-I CRIHU was carried out. Likewise, knowledge meetings were held with promoters, knowledgeable people and midwives of each of the peoples and with the population directly. This work also included word circles, knowledge dialogues and collective workshops. The final document synthesized the findings from the application of the survey aimed at exploring knowledge and practices related to pregnancy, childbirth and puerperium in the population of the three villages and pointed out the elements to be taken into account in the development of the Sociocultural Adaptation of the Clinical Practice Guidelines.
