Due to its extensive experience and knowledge of the territory, Sinergias was chosen by Fundación Éxito, in a strategic alliance with the Colombian Institute of Family Welfare (ICBF), to strengthen the community homes in the department of Vaupés and qualify the parents and community mothers who work there.

This technical work will provide elements to facilitate the operation of these homes in the context of Vaupés, defining a training program, pedagogical tools and support for parents and community mothers.

The program will begin in October with a diagnosis and characterization of the 38 community homes in the department, to identify the needs, weaknesses and strengths of parents and community mothers who provide care to children.

Pablo Montoya, director of the organization Sinergias, said that "it is necessary to ensure that the program responds to the local reality and needs. It is necessary to identify whether there are cultural elements in the program's approach and evaluate how to strengthen the intercultural approach".

The above, taking into account that 67% of the population of Vaupés is recognized as indigenous and belongs to 27 different groups, each with particular cultural characteristics, including different languages, hence the importance of this work.

This process, led by Sinergias, will involve 22 professionals such as social workers, pedagogues, anthropologists, nutritionists, early childhood technicians, doctors, nursing assistants, among others.
