Shock Plan for the elimination of congenital syphilis in Colombia

What is the project about?

We developed a Shock Plan to eliminate congenital syphilis, incorporating a rights-based and differential approach, thus recognizing the country's multiculturalism and profound inequalities that also affect sexual and reproductive health.

What did we do?

We adjusted instruments for the follow-up of syphilis cases, analyzed and characterized factors associated with maternal and infant transmission of syphilis. We conducted a pilot analysis of cases of congenital syphilis and built a National Shock Plan for the Elimination of Congenital Syphilis.
