Improving access to health services with an intercultural approach in 18 indigenous communities in rural areas of Vaupés.
The purpose of this project is to improve access to health services in 18 indigenous communities in rural areas of Vaupés, with an intercultural approach. Thus, it aims to 1) build a proposal for a primary health care model that is adapted to the local culture; 2) strengthen the institutional capacity of health services in order to provide quality within the framework of a differential approach; and 3) improve the capacity of indigenous organizations to manage the health system in the prioritized areas. In addition to the provision of basic health services, the project has 9 other components aimed at improving the quality of primary health care in the 18 communities, namely: child health, women's health (with emphasis on pregnant women), family and community health, interculturality, community health surveillance, management and strengthening of local capacities, prevention and control of neglected infectious diseases, chronic non-communicable diseases and mental health.
