Emergency response for the Amazon region of Colombia during COVID-19 - Direct Relief

The support we received for this project was fundamental to achieve the following objectives, which allowed us to contribute to the response to COVID-19 in the 6 Amazonian departments:

1. Develop and disseminate information, communication and education tools on COVID-19 prevention and preparedness appropriate to the local indigenous context.

2. Broadcast 30-minute radio programs to inform the local population, reaching families located in remote rural areas with little access to information and health services to help them prevent and adequately cope with the spread of the virus.

3. Provide inputs for Community Health Surveillance or Collective Epidemiological Intelligence that rescue and strengthen local capacities and knowledge for case management and coordination with the health sector.

4. Provide personal protective equipment for members of the indigenous community.

5. Provide medical supplies for community health workers and/or rural health posts.
