Design of the National Shock Plan for the elimination of congenital syphilis in Colombia

Through this project, the National Plan for the Elimination of Congenital Syphilis was designed, based on a bibliographic review on gestational and congenital syphilis that included the topics of pathophysiology, detection, treatment, strategies and national and international public policies. An analysis was also made of the instruments available in the country for the collection of cases of gestational and congenital syphilis, as well as the database of the National Epidemiological Surveillance System (Sivigila) for the year 2012. Based on the above, a pilot analysis of congenital syphilis cases was conducted in 9 territorial entities.
