In 2023, a collaborative and experiential approach process was initiated to highlight local knowledge and expectations about the possible paths that lead to the construction of community routes for the prevention and attention of gender-based violence (GBV) in 3 settlements of the Association of Traditional Authorities Surrounding the Mitú-Monfort Highway (AATAC).
Together with the group of community researchers, we worked on actions aimed at:
Designing methodologies and instruments appropriate to the context for the conceptualization and characterization of the most recurrent forms of violence in each community.
Reflecting on support networks and protective practices based on local knowledge.
Exploring coping mechanisms and psychosocial support tools (ANIMA strategy for psychological first aid) for people affected by different types of gender violence.
Building a proposal for a community route (ANIMA strategy for psychological first aid). Explore coping mechanisms and psychosocial support tools (ANIMA strategy of psychological first aid) for people who are being affected by different types of gender-based violence.
Construct a proposal for a community route for each settlement, in dialogue with residents and the AATAC association.
Produce educational and communicative material for the prevention of GBV: videos, informative capsules in audio format, comics, in local languages and in Spanish.
Visualize with AATAC the horizons and sustainability of the process based on its own resources.
Present the proposed routes to the institutions that are part of the Articulating Mechanism for the Integral Approach to Gender-Based Violence in Mitú, with a view to the articulation with the institutional routes.
Other work fronts of Sinergias in the area of gender-based violence include:
