Challenges and proposals for the improvement of maternal and child health in Colombia

Maternal, newborn and child health deficiencies continue to be a major problem in developing countries. Globally, 358,000 women die each year in pregnancy or childbirth and an estimated 7.6 million children die before their fifth birthday (...) Many of these deaths could be prevented by implementing essential interventions that are part of the health care continuum.
