As part of the follow-up of the Strategy for the Elimination of Mother-to-Child Transmission (MTCT) of HIV, an investigation was carried out on the quality of prenatal care in 20 Colombian departments, evaluating the record of effective activities in the reduction of maternal and perinatal morbidity and mortality, many of which are included in the mandatory national regulations. Taking into account the importance for future pregnancies, research was conducted on data related to childbirth, puerperium and newborn care. This process also included the development of a mixed research on the barriers faced by adolescents and young people in seeking sexual and reproductive health services in Bogota.
