In December 2025, Sinergias conducted a 24-hour in-person theoretical and practical training program on human breastfeeding counseling and infant feeding, organized into seven working groups. The initiative trained 101 individuals from 20 municipalities in Cauca, strengthening local capacity in a key area of maternal and child health. Twenty-eight institutions from the health and social sectors participated in the process, including the Departmental Territorial Entity, three Municipal Territorial Entities, one Benefit Plan Administration Company, twelve State Social Enterprises (three at the supplementary level and nine at the primary level), six Indigenous Health Service Providers (IPSI), one private primary-level IPS, two ICBF programs, as well as the University of Cauca and Antonio Nariño University. The trained personnel came from various health sectors, with a high proportion of nursing assistants. Strengthening institutional and community capacities, as well as promoting quality, territory-focused healthcare, is an essential part of Sinergias’ mission. This process was part of the Collective Interventions Plan for the department of Cauca and was implemented in partnership with the E.S.E. Centro 1 de Piendamó.
