Elmer Orlando Torres

I am from the Tuyuca ethnic group. I was born in Mitú, Vaupés, and I am a nursing assistant who graduated from the Vaupés regional SENA. I was part of the research team on hydatid disease in Vaupés at the Universities of the Andes and Nacional. I am certified in the diagnosis of acute forms of ocular trachoma and participated in the delimitation of the trachoma focus in the departments of Vaupés, Guainía, Guaviare, Vichada, Caquetá, Meta, and Amazonas. I have also participated in training sessions and the delimitation of the trachoma focus in Brazil and Peru. In addition, I have experience as a vaccinator and healthcare experience at the San Antonio de Mitú Hospital. I currently work with Sinergias as a nursing assistant at the Santa Marta care center in Cuduyarí.
