What is the project about?
This project started in March 2015 and aims to describe the experiences of indigenous ethnic groups in the Colombian Amazon when trying to access health services outside their communities, mainly in the cities of Mitú, Villavicencio and Bogotá.
What are we doing?
As part of this study, we will describe the itineraries through which the indigenous people travel when trying to access health services outside their communities, delving into the context and conditions in which lodging, food and logistics services are provided in shelters in urban centers and, based on this information, we will suggest alternatives for the adequacy of these services.
In addition to the aforementioned projects, Sinergias continuously develops advocacy and advocacy work at the national and territorial level in order to raise awareness among key actors in the health system and other sectors about the situation of rights violations faced by these groups, and about the importance of adapting and adapting national programs to local needs and to the social and cultural context of these peoples.
